The College Board of Directors convened on September 24, 2026, with strong participation from Directors attending in person and virtually. Mr. Peter Christensen, Assistant Director, Integrity Policies and Program, Strategic Policy, Planning and Risk Sector, IRCC attended the meeting as Ministerial Observer pursuant to s. 76 of the College Act.
The Board of Directors approved the following items:
- Annual General Meeting Documentation
The Board approved October 28, 2026, as the record date for the 2026 Annual General Meeting of Licensees. The Board also approved the Annual General Meeting documentation package, consisting of the Information Circular, form of proxy, order of events, and meeting agenda. Management will arrange for the official Notice of Meeting to be distributed to licensees.

- Update on Regulatory Framework
The College, with the support of the Department of Justice (DOJ), is currently drafting its new By-laws. The By-laws outline how the College conducts its activities—from Annual General Meetings to Professional Liability Insurance (PLI)—and is one of the final steps of our transition from the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC).
A team made up of members from each of the College’s departments is working to ensure the By-laws are aligned with its operations (both today’s and tomorrow’s), IT systems, strategy and potential amendments to the College Act and Regulations. This team must not only consider numerous issues, but also coordinate its work with the College’s Board of Directors, the DOJ and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
- Financial Review
The Board reviewed the financial results for the year ended June 30, 2026 as part of its ongoing oversight responsibilities.
