The College’s work to hold bad actors accountable in Canada’s immigration consulting profession has been featured in recent media coverage.
An article published by OMNI News, titled CICC takes action against bad actors in immigration industry highlighted several recent disciplinary actions taken by the College against licensees found to have breached the Code of Professional Conduct.
Tribunal actions are published in the College’s Monthly Bulletin, and current disciplinary proceedings and past decisions are also available for viewing on the Disciplinary Proceedings and Tribunal webpage. Since February, these have also appeared on the Public Register.
Beyond reporting on disciplinary actions, the article points to a wider pattern of exploitation within the immigration sector. In doing so, it shares the College’s longstanding advice that people who want to work with a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) should first check the Public Register.
