The College is proud to launch the annual 2026 Fraud Prevention campaign on March 2!
The 8-week international, multilingual campaign will build on last year’s theme – Immigration fraud can be hard to spot.
“Our message is simple: if you choose to work with an immigration consultant, check the College’s Public Register to confirm that they are licensed by the College,” said Kate Lamb, Interim President & CEO. “This is one of the best ways people can protect themselves from immigration fraud, which can have a devastating impact on prospective newcomers hoping to make Canada their home.”
Under Canadian law, anyone who provides Canadian immigration or citizenship advice or representation for a fee (or for any other consideration) must be one of the following:
- A licensee in good standing with the College.
- A member of a Canadian law society.
- A member of the Chambre des notaires du Québec.
The campaign will run domestically and internationally, and in Canada, look for the campaign on transit ads in cities from coast to coast!
